She has garnered numerous accolades both locally and internationally, with notable performances at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and The Kennedy Center. Beyond her proficiency in Urdu and Punjabi, she has also lent her voice to songs in the Pashto language.
In recognition of her significant contributions to the music industry, Kiani was honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the fourth-highest civilian award in Pakistan, in 2006. Hadiqa Kiani was born in Rawalpindi and is the youngest among her two siblings, including an older brother, Irfan Kiani, and sister, Sasha. Her father passed away when she was just three years old, and her mother, Khawar Kiani, who was a poet and the principal of a government girls' school, recognized her musical talent early on. Consequently, she enrolled Hadiqa in the Pakistan National Council of the Arts. Under the guidance of her teacher, Madam Nargis Naheed, Kiani received her initial musical education.
While attending Viqar-un-Nisa Noon Girls High School, Kiani represented Pakistan in international children's festivals held in Turkey, Jordan, Bulgaria, and Greece. Her exceptional performances earned her various medals, and she had the opportunity to showcase her talent to audiences worldwide. She was also part of Sohail Rana's children's program, "Rang Barangi Dunya," which aired weekly on PTV.
In the eighth grade, Kiani relocated from Rawalpindi to Lahore, where she continued her classical training under the tutelage of Ustad Faiz Ahmed Khan and Wajid Ali Nashad. She pursued higher education at esteemed institutions, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Kinnaird College for Women University and a master's degree in Psychology from Government College University in Lahore.
In the early 1990s, Kiani ventured into television, hosting the children's music program "Angan Angan Taray." During its 3½-year run, she sang over a thousand songs for children and co-hosted the show alongside renowned music composers Amjad Bobby and later Khalil Ahmed.
